Iceland sent 4 USAR Coordination specialists as part of the USAR international response to the Turkiye earthquake. Two engineers, a medical doctor and four logicians and safety officer were also sent to create a self-sufficient team. The team was a part of the multi-country UCC operation led by the Dutch. After 6 days, the Dutch planned their demobilization, and the 4 UC specialists were transported by helicopter to the USA Base of Operations in Adiyaman to continue to run the UCC from there. This lecture will provide an overview of the Icelandic response, the international response, and the main lessons learned from an international USAR perspective.
