A prolonged period of heavy storms swept across North Iceland and other parts of the country in December 2019 and had a considerable effect on residents, livestock and structures. Transport was disrupted, the power line system failed and loss of telephone service was widespread in the area. Respondents had their hands full throughout the district of the Police Commissioner of Northeast Iceland. Actions had to be coordinated and there were many things to consider.
