Þuríður Aradóttir Braun

Þuríður is a tourism and marketing specialist and has been working in different fields of tourism for the last 30 years. She was a tourism representative in Rangarþing eystra in 2010 with the eruption in Eyjafjallajökull, and since 2013 she has been managing Visit Reykjanes, navigating their work through communication of the seismic activity and eruption in the region.

With the lecture, I would like to address how we can help our visitors navigate through all the information available online during natural disasters. And raise the importance of teamwork among key stakeholders; Safetravel/SAR, Visit Iceland, regional DMO (Visit Reykjanes) and local authorities.
