After Kevin's presentation, a panel of experts will discuss the challenges associated with large, complex, and long-term operations. The panelists include Víðir Reynisson, Head of Iceland Civil Protection; Friðfinnur Freyr Guðmundsson, Head of ICE-SAR National Command; and Zuzana Stanton-Geddes, Disaster Risk Management Specialist from the World Bank. The discussion will be moderated by Guðbrandur Örn Arnarson, ICE-SAR Project Manager for Search and Rescue.
Zuzana Stanton-Geddes is a Disaster Risk Management Specialist at the World bank, where since 2010, she has been working on projects and analytics related to urban resilience, flood risk management, post-disaster recovery, and risk financing.
Friðfinnur Freyr Guðmundsson, a Search and Rescue volunteer for over 30 years is project manager for emergency preparedness for Isavia, airport authority, chairman of the ICE-SAR National Command and has been one of the Team Leaders of the Icelandic international rescue team (USAR).
Vídir Reynisson is General Director of Iceland's Civil Protection and Emergency Management. Vidir s background is in Search and Rescue (SAR) and police, ranging from field searches for missing persons to command and control of SAR operations.
Kevin Wickersham, MS, CEM, serves as the Response Section Manager at the Washington State Emergency Management Division in the US.
